OpenAI is seeking a strategic finance leader to own the financial perspective on growth across its B2B portfolio, including the API Platform.
This is an individual contributor role requiring 7+ years of rigorous analytical experience in strategic finance, investment banking, PE/VC, or product finance within a complex B2B business.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional financial modeling skills, deep commercial judgment, and experience navigating compute/capacity tradeoffs.
Candidates without complex B2B product finance or strong quantitative modeling backgrounds should not apply.
Role Responsibilities
- 1Own an integrated view of B2B monetization and product economics including pricing, packaging, discounts, credits, and customer profitability.
- 2Build, maintain, and improve complex driver-based financial models connecting customer usage, model mix, pricing, and contribution margin.
- 3Develop financial views for B2B compute demand and margin planning, recommending capacity and resourcing decisions.
- 4Evaluate OpenAI's largest strategic enterprise deals regarding commercial terms, discounts, compute requirements, and long-term financial implications.
- 5Create decision frameworks, guardrails, and operating cadences for pricing, discounting, credits, and margin management.
- 6Translate complex data into sound recommendations, forecasts, and executive narratives while improving underlying systems and metrics.
